meet sarai johnson
author * speaker * coach
I help audacious souls and organizations bring their sacred work to life without burning out or selling out.
first: my gift to you, a normal person bio
Sarai Johnson is a best-selling author, sought after speaker, and creatrix coach. Sarai has nearly two decades of experience managing businesses, nonprofits, people, projects, and as a creative entrepreneur. She earned her Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon, and certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Book Yourself Solid® Coaching, 200 RYT Yoga Alliance, and project management, among others, and is an Emerge Oregon alumna.
At home, Sarai enjoys her rambunctious boys, Kalevvi and Taavi, her boyfriend, Isaac Judd, and her dog, Penny, in their hometown of Eugene, Oregon. When she isn't creating, writing, speaking, or coaching, she is probably getting lost in the woods or floating down a river somewhere.
how i roll:
Freedom, liberation, and self-determination are my driving force. I have spent my entire life working to help myself and others courageously liberate ourselves from the expectations and trappings of our unconsciously created roles and choices in life. Sharing through keynotes, workshops and facilitation is the most powerful way to share this message of empowerment, self-discovery, healing, and action. When I speak, people jump to their feet for their right "YES!"
I help people see what is possible, that all the magic they need is already inside them, and how to make their dreams happen. I speak, I share, I shake it up.
Not only do I do keynotes and other big-stage presentations, but I also love to conduct workshops to help people gain and hone practical skills that help them in life and in their important work.
This word doesn't do justice to what I mean when I say it. To me, being a coach is being the co-creatrix with you of expressing your purpose in this life - through your sacred work, your big dreams, and your incredible potential. I help you uncover and integrate your passions, talents, and skills while blasting past imposter syndrome to get your unique Alchemy of Self out into the world. I help you remove your masks, take action to make your dreams come true, and change the world - and I help you do it in a way that can be sustained so you can build a life you don't need to escape from, so you can make a difference in the world without martyring yourself, going broke, burning out, or selling out.
I write books, blogs and articles with a focus on liberation, self-actualization and living to your full potential. My love-letters in the form of blogs and books are usually written to nonprofits, people healing from burnout, people who are making a big transition in their roles in life (coming out publicly as LGBTQ+, shifting key relationships, leaving identity-pieces that no longer fit them), people muddling through their own spiritual development - especially coming from a religious background the no longer serves them, - and entrepreneurs looking to give voice and form to their sacred work in the world. Incidentally, these are typically the same people I serve in coaching.
I want people to live free, live bright, and be complete. So I write for them.

My philosophy in life is that learning is forever. I invest a lot of time, money, and energy into my own professional development, and my clients benefit greatly from that effort. The above-listed certifications and licensures are most pertinent to my business and work today.
Our teachers, coaches, and mentors shape so much about us, my well of "here's who I am and what I'm about" would not be fully plumbed without a nod to the people who have taught me what I know. Here are a few of the ones with whom I've worked closely, and who have significantly impacted my approach to life and work.
